How we Work with Arena Solutions to Extend the BOM for Service Management

Arena Solutions is superior BOM management software. It is so impressive that we designed a service to integrate with it. Because it is web enabled, we can easily access its data to create a service management database. We display Arena data within a program called WordPress. We then combine other service data along with data from Arena solutions to create a service management portal.

Integrated Service Management Portal

We can create service management portals that integrate with Arena. Here are some of the advantages:

  1. Product data is constantly kept in sync
  2. Service database can be updated by various service personnel without affecting the main BOM database
  3. The service database can be viewed by your customers, and you can allow them to place moderated comments and questions on each product

Multiple Material Data Sources All in One Place

We extract BOM information from BOM management software, we then import this data, and then create a service management site which includes both the BOM and sub components. This site has an user access model which allows some users to make updates while other can only view the data.

Arena is only one of several information sources that are used to create the service parts portal. This can include

  • Other BOM software
  • ERP system data
  • Manually entered information from service personnel
  • Manually entered information from suppliers
  • Comments from customers

This helps capture knowledge from a variety of sources and integrate it into a service support system. This system can help you capture it in an integrated fashion. The resulting system is that service management, customers and suppliers have a complete and up to date online database with maintenance information per part sub-component and per part BOM.

Everyone in the service chain can share the information in the portal with linking. In our portals, each part has its own post and title and is completely flexible, and can be re-named without breaking anything or any document linking to it.

Links to the portal-database can be inserted in Word, Excel documents or emails so that the information can be shared and disseminated. In this way, the portal becomes a common platform for communicating and submitting maintenance information
